Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a relationship between our farm and you as our customer. Rather than simply purchasing our products, our customers become “members” of our farm who receive a portion of the farm’s harvest.
When you purchase a Seashore Flower Farm CSA share, for yourself or as a gift, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
Payment: I understand that to successfully reserve my CSA share I must register and complete my payment in full. I understand that payments are non-refundable.There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of my CSA once purchased. As a CSA member, I may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of the season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person. The alternate person will pay the original shareholder directly.
Share Dates: I understand that the start of each CSA share is flexible and based on seasonal conditions and product availability. I am aware that Seashore Flower Farm will communicate via email to inform all shareholders of updates and start dates, and that it is my responsibility to contact the farm via email if I am not receiving notifications near the specified CSA start dates shared in the product details.
Sharing the flower season: I understand that as a member, I share in the bounty, seasonality, and the risks of farming. I understand that Seashore Flower Farm will do everything they can to have a bountiful and beautiful harvest. I understand that only certain flowers bloom during certain times of the year (i.e. out of season flowers cannot be requested in off-season periods) and the risks include poor harvests due to unfavorable weather or pests, or the total loss of all crops due to a natural disaster such as fire, flood, drought, tropical storm or hurricane.
Flower care: Seashore Flower Farm bouquets stay amazingly fresh when they are treated with care. Bouquets are made ready for transport, however their stems will need to be recut and placed in fresh water. I should choose to pick up my flowers when I am close to being home and keep them in a climate-controlled (cool, out of direct sun) environment. I understand that flowers are a perishable product, with a variable vase life of 3-12 days. A flower care instruction card will be available during the first CSA pick up of the year. I understand that all flowers in my share are delivered within 24 hours of harvest in peak condition, and that all varieties have a different vase life, dependent on care. Seashore Flower Farm will not be held responsible for shortened vase life or poor flower quality once I receive my share from the pickup location. I understand that to prolong the vase life of flowers I should change the water in my vase and trim the bottom ⅓” of the stems every 2 days. I understand that I should keep flowers in a cool spot out of direct sunlight and away from heating and cooling vents or fans. I understand that I should also keep my fresh flowers 10 ft or more away from ripening fruit on the counter which can significantly shorten the vase life of fresh flowers.
Should there be any issue with my flowers upon pickup from the host location, I will contact Seashore Flower Farm via email within 12 hours to alert them of the issue, and when possible will include photographs to document the problem.
Picking up your share: I understand that my share will be delivered weekly (except Spring shares which will be dependent on bloom times) at the pickup location TBA or picked up at Seashore Flower Farm. If I am out of town or unable to pickup my CSA for any reason, I understand that it is my responsibility to find a substitute to take my share. If I am unable to find a substitute, I will not receive credit or a refund for any shares that I do not pickup.
Pickup time parameters are specific to the host location. It is my responsibility to pick up my share during the designated time period on the designated day. If I am unable to pick it up, I will have a someone else do so. I understand that if my share is not picked up on the designated day, within the designated time, I forfeit that bouquet and it will be donated at the discretion of the host pickup location.
If the the CSA was purchased as a gift, I understand that I am responsible for making sure that the gift recipient understands and agrees to the CSA terms and conditions including the pickup protocol.
Changes to my share: I understand that once I have purchased a CSA, I may not be able to extend my share due to a missed pick up for any reason. I may coordinate a designee to pickup my share if I am unable to do so, or I may transfer my share to another individual if I am unable to continue with the bouquet subscription. I understand that Seashore Flower Farm does not help facilitate these transfers, and I will coordinate with the new shareholder to pay me directly for the rest of the share.
I understand that each flower share will be wrapped in kraft paper and held in a bucket of water at the pickup site. I understand that Seashore Flower Farm does not provide a vase or water for me to transport the flowers from the pickup site.
Communication: I understand that Seashore Flower Farm communicates important updates and changes by email. I agree to add hedy@seashoreflowerfarm.com to my contacts.
